Biography
I graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a degree in Math as well as Education. I am currently working on my Masters degree with an educational leadership focus. I have taught at the elementary school for 6 years and love teaching grade 6. I LOVE math and think that it is the best subject of them all! Math should be fun, exciting and hands on. Come to class and be prepared to learn!
In teaching math I feel it is important for students to think on their own. They do not need to be taught algorithms or formulas. If students know how to think they will be able to reason how to solve problems in their own way. I do not want all students to solve problems the same way. I want them to find their own strategies that they understand and can apply on their own. There are always multiple routes to find an answer and all routes are correct.
